Description

Right on - it's summertime! Our favorite kids from Ocean Shores are looking forward to the best summer yet and more importantly to the Annual Ocean Shores Surf Contest. But as Otto, Reggie, Twister and Sam finally reach the beach they make a startling discovery - most of the sand is missing, and the surf contest has been postponed . . . indefinitely! Local town officials announce that there is nothing to fret. The head of a mysterious new robotics company, Mr. A.I. Golem, vows to get to the bottom of the missing sand. However something's amiss and the kids aren't buying into Golem Inc.'s generosity. It's now up to our sand sleuths to figure out who's stealing the sand from Ocean Shore's beach!

Review

As someone who is 31 years old and has only seen one episode of "Rocket Power Beach Bandits", I can safely say that I am not the demographic the makers of this game were aiming for. I love it anyway!

First off, I would like to admit that my favorite type of game is a platformer. I enjoy going on adventures and completing missions. The only problem is that they tend to get tedious after a while. I was hoping that this game would be similar to that style but with a fresh spin on it. It didn't disappoint!

Parts of this game are like "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" for kids. You have to do tricks to earn points and sometimes you have to grind objects in order to collect items that you need. It's not as complex as Tony Hawk and my friend's 7 year old was able to pick it up rather easily.

There are also racing levels where you are riding on a hoverboard, rollerblades or a jet ski. Sometimes you have to collect tokens in order to play games in the Boardwalk area. There is plenty of variety in "Beach Bandits" and I love any game which can be enjoyed by a whole family. This is one of those games.

A few parts of the game might be too difficult for little kids so it would really help if they had an adult around to help them through the tougher areas. I beat the game in 12-14 hours but of course, that will vary a lot depending on the gamer. This title also features several different multiplayer games for you to enjoy with your friends. A recommended buy!
